In 2016 the following meetings of intergovernmental Commissions were prepared and held:
On March 14-15, 2016, the 1st meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Georgian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, chaired by Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Kozhoshev. The parties discussed the possibilities of activating and developing bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Georgia in such areas as trade and economic, investment, energy, agriculture, mining, health, culture, intellectual property, education, sports, tourism, culture, etc.
On April 22, 2016, the 6th meeting of the Mixed Kyrgyz-Austrian Commission for Bilateral Economic Relations was held in Bishkek. The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by the Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Kasymaliev, the Austrian delegation was led by the Director General for Foreign Economic Relations of the Ministry of Science, Research and Economics of the Republic of Austria Franz Wessig. During the Commission meeting the Austrian side was acquainted with the socio-economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic, the investment climate, and the membership of the Kyrgyz Republic in the EAEU. Agreements have been reached on the development of cooperation in the areas of investment, energy, tourism, mining, agriculture, health care, registration business, mass communications, etc.
on May 10-12, 2016 in Bishkek the 11th meeting of the joint intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran was held. The Kyrgyz part of the Commission was headed by the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic Z. Aidarov, the Iranian - by the Minister of Roads and Urban Planning of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Ahmad Akhundi. The parties addressed issues of a long-term cooperation program, cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, technical regulation, standardization and metrology, energy, transport and communications, industry, the mining industry and the export of engineering and technical services, banking and insurance, the social sphere etc.
On June 3, 2016 in Bishkek the 4th meeting of the joint Kyrgyz-Swiss Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held chaired by the Minister of Finance of the KR A.Kasymaliev and Ambassador Libya Loe, Delegate of the Federal Council for Trade Agreements, Head of the Department for Bilateral Economic Relations of the State Secretariat on economic issues. The sides discussed issues related to the economic situation and prospects for the Kyrgyz Republic and Switzerland, cooperation in trade, investment, banking, taxes, tourism, mining, geology and mineral resources, finance, auditing, accounting and financial reporting, social issues.
On June 29, 2016, the 6th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Bishkek under the chairmanship of the Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of the Kyrgyz Republic T. Bekboev. The Belarusian Party was chaired by L. Zayats - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus. During the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission the Parties agreed to intensify work on the creation of assembly production in Kyrgyzstan, to continue work on the delivery of career, cargo and passenger Belarusian-made vehicles to the Kyrgyz Republic, to work on the creation of joint ventures in the Kyrgyz Republic for the production of meat and dairy products, for primary processing of wool the issue of building a logistics center for pre-sale preparation using Belarusian technology for the further supply of agricultural products to retail chains and opening of the trading house of Belarus in the Kyrgyz Republic.
On July 8, 2016 in Bishkek the 8th meeting of the intergovernmental Kyrgyz-St. Petersburg joint commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation took place chaired by Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic O.Pankratov and Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Grigoriev Evgeny Dmitrievich. The issues of cooperation in the field of energy, education, labor, employment and labor migration, geological research and subsoil use, environmental protection, health and social development, culture and tourism, in the agro-industrial sphere, etc were discussed.
On August 25, 2016, the 2nd meeting of the intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Turkmen commission for trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation was held in Bishkek chaired by Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Kozhoshev and Chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan A. Dadaev. During the meeting, the Parties reached an agreement on the development of cooperation in the sphere of economy, trade, health, education and science, agriculture, transport, culture, tourism, in the social sphere etc.
On October 7, 2016 in Bishkek the 2nd meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Korean Commission for Economic Cooperation was held chaired by Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Kozhoshev and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Korea Mr. Lee Tae-ho. During the meeting agreements were reached on enhancing bilateral trade and economic relations, cooperation issues within the framework of the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), the conclusion of the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Korea and the EAEU, cooperation in the field of geology, mineral resources, industry, energy, agriculture farming, rural development, the promotion of pilot projects of the “Semayl” villages in the Kyrgyz Republic, health, ecology, registration, labor etc.
On November 28, 2016, the 8th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Indian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was held at the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic. The experts of the parties agreed on topical issues of bilateral relations, which will allow the Parties to further enhance cooperation with India on trade and investment, mining, textiles, agriculture and livestock production, standardization, conformity assessment, information technology, pharmaceuticals and health, culture and tourism, as well as education and science.
